Give me something to work with . . give me a big smiley face, a gold star . . connect me to the President. Oh, forget about him right now, he's busy campaignin' and worryin' about the masses. How about givin' me an electric bill that I can pay without havin' to use my calculator in the store isle to see what I can afford and what I have to put back. Fill up my tank with your credit card . . see how resilient you are then.
Resilience sounds like plastic . . and I am real. Give me somethin' real, gal . . then I can listen.

I am here . . but I can't fix what's up to you to fix. Even my suggestions cannot change the way you feel . . but you can. I really believe you can because I believe it myself. You see, believe is the key or the gold star, shall we say. We've got to believe in something. And from what you are saying, it seems like you are really strong . . so today, I'm going to believe in you.
ReplyDeleteThen, let's back it up with a little plan . . again, just for today. Close your eyes and place all those worries in the palm of your hand . . and blow hard. Blow them into the wind. Release them.
They may come back in the morning, but at least for tonight they will be gone.
Now, do something good with your hands . . bake a loaf of bread, peel an orange. Smell and taste the beauty. Hold your children. Feel their beauty. Look at yourself in the mirror. See your beauty. Trust the beauty of all that you have before you at this very moment.
You are so right, you are living resilience:) You have a lot more control than you think . .today. And tomorrow, we'll work on it again. I'll be here . . listening . .
